    frigidaire fac105p1a manual

I have mounted my unit in a through-the-wall location and used wood to cover up the remaining gaps on the sides, top, and bottom. The installation took about 30 minutes to do, but, if installed in a window (in my case that wasn't an option) it would have gone much faster and been easier. A few notes about the item: - Upon delivery, carefully inspect your unit for any damage. Mine came a little damaged (most likely during transit) but I decided to hold onto the unit as it still appeared to function just as expected. In my case, the metal housing was bent on one side (likely from the unit being dropped or hit in transit). I have submitted a report to Amazon, so hopefully this issue will be resolved in the future. - The remote sensing feature is a nice idea, and it (sort of) works, but I am not sure how much I trust it. The reason I say this is using another device to measure the air temperature resulted in a 2? difference, which, when deciding whether or not to kick on the air conditioner is a significant amount. It's great to give a try, but you may end up playing with the temperature controls more or less to get it to the temperature you desire. - I consider the unit to be very quiet, but perhaps I have always had louder units. If you want something that's silent, this isn't for you, but if you want something that you can still clearly hear your thoughts, music, or movies over, this will be perfect for you. - The previous model (The vents have two different locations: Facing forward (90?) or facing up (eyeballed at 25.There are two controls (one for the left vent and one for the right vent), they work very well. Whatever direction they are pointed the air flows. So, to recap, the unit is great, it's quiet (not silent), and seems to be an affordable option within this price range of air conditioners.Arrived 2 days before scheduled. We installed it in our living, dining room, kitchen combination and noted a difference in temperature in about 10 - 15 minutes.

It only takes a minute to sign up. Try zooming out a bit. The shield almost certainly connects to the ground wire, either directly or possibly through some kind of filter or resistor, but that may be easy to add to the three-wire replacement plug. The copper pigtail 4th wire is a dead giveaway. The circuit detects if there is a Leakage Current between the hot and neutral wires and the surrounding mesh, which would indicate a damaged cable. The purpose of this is to prevent a fire hazard. Because the AC pulls a lot of current, a damaged cable can get hot and start an electrical fire. (The internal insulator can be damaged with no visible exterior damage.) Just make sure it's rated for the sufficient wattage. (Almost all will be, but you never know.) You will have to remove the casing from the AC unit to connect the leads internally, which is a bit more hassle than working with a cable. But worth it to prevent a fire! You will gain shock protection, but lose fire protection, since most of these LCDI plugs don't include GFCI, though some models might. (I wouldn't recommend this, though, don't know if your insurance would cover a fire if it started one. It might be okay as a short-term solution until you can order a new cable if you are burning up and need to cool right away.) I would definitely replace with a GFCI unless you are 100% certain that the receptacle is protected by GFCI elsewhere (either in the receptacle or upstream). The manual is for multiple models so it does not state the power requirements. The current plug does have a reset and test button As does the replacement from Home Depot. Our central unit needs to be replaced but with money tight at the moment, we decided to try this window unit until winter time to get a better deal to replace the central air unit. Being in Florida you can't be without air conditioning long. So far this is working great. I would buy this unit again.Keeps our large bedroom (18x20 with cathedral ceiling) nice and cool. I love the temp sensing remote. I can keep the remote on our headboard and the unit won't shut off until the desired temp is reached there. This unit was smaller then the 10,000 BTU we replaced but it works perfectly. We are nice and cool!I'm very glad I 'settled' because I think the other one would have been overkillI like it about 60 degrees at night. Not one dent or scratch. All items were sealed so it must have been manufacturer defect. I found that keeping the INSULATED attic cool is one of the secrets for a lower bill and more comfort downstairs. Yes, I'll replace these more often, but the one I just replaced (and it was still working but smaller in BTU) was at least 10 years old. 2 of the others are over 6 years old.It was about 85 degrees outside today and my 500sf living room was freezing. It required me to buy a piece of plexiglass to enclose everything. I used weather seal tape to hold everything together as well as foam weatherstrip tape to close up any gaps. I'm very satisfied with the quality and power of this machine!Temperature can be set as low as 60c. Unlike my last AC this remote does not need to be pointed direct at the AC, even pointing the opposite direction in my room at a white wall will work. The biggest annoyance and downside of this AC: Every single time you turn it on its starts in energy saver mode with remote temperature sensing off, this means I need to hit 3 buttons to start the ac in the configuration I want (but it does remember your last used temperature and fan speed).Amazon is awesome! Great price even better than stores and cheap shipping with Amazon prime.

Cooling capacity is measured in British Thermal Units (BTUs) and typical models will range in capacity from 5,000 BTUs to 28,500 BTUs. Choosing an undersized unit will overwork the unit and it will not cool properly. Choosing an oversized unit will cost more to buy and operate and it will not dehumidify properly. I can not place a screw through the left and right accordion sleeves into the window sash because my windows frames are metal.not a major issue though, they fit perfectly over the frame and screwing it down is not required. Per the instructions, if you have a storm window, you will need to pad the bottom of the unit at the front side with wood so to give it the proper tilt over your window sill. I was actually able to pad mine using just the foam seal that comes with the unit (I did not need it for the window sash) and a few of the foam blocks that come in the superb packaging and mounted it just fine. Will leave another review when I've seen an electric bill after running just this unit for the entire cycle. I'm expecting the unit to pay for itself in 1-2 months tops.Highly Recommended, looking to buy 2 more. The unit blows very cold and it was not damaged during shipping. This unit is cooling 367.5 square ft in a mobile home with metal roof and metal siding and does it very well(Rated for 350 square ft). The features are very nice; Remote, Sleep, Timer, Thermonstat built in the remote for remote sensing. Excellent unitAnd NO, IT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A JET ENGINE. I'm very happy with this purchase. It's a Bulk item so you can refuse it when delivered if the box seems to be damaged. This unit does what it's specifications says it will do.Price was better than I could buy at the local wholesale supply house. It blows cold and cools off a finished attic bedroom. It is a bit loud. Once I got hold of someone from Walmart they immediately sent me an email with a free return shipping label that I simply printed out and taped to the box. We then brought it to the US post office. In my opinion, the damage caused to the first unit was Frigidaire's fault. The box it arrived in was very flimsy. The manufacturer should do a better job of packing it at their warehouse before shipping them to the customer. No complaints other than that. See more Reviewed by KoolKustomer KoolKustomer Helpful. Time will tell on how well the air conditioner performs over the long haul and when it gets really hot. I ordered this air conditioner online on May 8 and was advised that it would arrive by May 21. Much to my surprise it arrived on May 10 -- just two days after placing the order. I found that incredible. Why stand in line and have to deal with someone who doesn't care? A couple of things about the air conditioner. I chose Frigidaire because they have 6.5-foot power cords instead of the usual 6-foot. I needed the additional six inches to reach the wall outlet. It would probably be okay to use a heavy-duty extension cord, but why take chances? Again, though, time will tell which one performs better long term. See more Reviewed by Comet2k Comet2k Helpful. July 15, 2014 Verified purchase I bought my Frigidaire FFRE0833Q1 window air conditioner on line via the Walmart web site. Thus far, it is doing a good job of keeping the living room and kitchen area cool in our double-wide mobile home. We haven't any real hot and humid days yet but I feel confident it will do the job. It was easy to install and is actually pretty quiet. The remote works well. The only complaint I have is that the first unit I bought arrived damaged via Fed Ex and had to be returned. I received a replacement unit within 3 days though which which was a pleasant surprise.

These are not cheap so I was pretty upset that the warranty had already expired. I think air-conditioners should last 10 years at least. So I had to deduct two stars. I did purchase another one to replace the old one, hopefully this one will last longer than the previous one. See more Reviewed by truthhurtss truthhurtss Helpful. I usually turn it on after work, set to 77, with eco mode and temp sensor remote on and 15 minutes later everything is nice and cool running only when needed. Most of the features I don't use except the eco mode and remote sensor. The 24hr timer is not what I thought it would be. You can't set it to come at specific times like a lamp timer. If it's 8pm and you want it to turn at 2pm the next day you need to set the timer for 18hrs. The biggest thing I don't like is the auger style vent deflectors. I don't feel they deflect air as good as the vents like cars have. The noise level is average. I've never come across one that was super quiet but using the eco mode does cut down on the time the fan and compressor run. When it comes back on it's quite noisy for a few minutes. Then it gets quieter, thank goodness. My sister suggested that I just keep the fan speed on low and skip the energy saver if I can't get used to the startup noise. That won't save as much energy, but it will save some. Top of air conditioner where sides attach to was bent (a hammer had to be used) and some of the coils on the back were also bent. Should have removed it completely from the box to check for damage. Remote sensing temp. (energy saving setting) and air conditioner do not maintain the same temperature, (remote shows a hotter temp.) approx. 7 degree difference. Cool setting works good and cools the medium sized room (13'x13') off nicely and my small kitchen. Fan blows cool air out nicely but I still use an osculating fan in front of the unit. Cools a 20' x 20' room with no problem. My only concern is that the drainage on this unit does not adequately drain all the water that collects inside, especially after a rain storm, causing the fan to hit the puddle of water and make a very annoying, loud sound. Need to put a drain at the absolute bottom of this unit. See more Reviewed by Hellllllo Hellllllo Helpful. Yes ( 12 ) No ( 1 ) Report Average Rating: ( 3.0 ) out of 5 stars Works but. Since the room air conditioner is not running at all times, this setting will help save energy while ensuring the room temperature stays at the set temperature. To cancel this feature, press the Clean Air button. BTU stands for British Thermal Unit - the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degrees Fahrenheit. The higher the BTU the larger space the room air conditioner will cool. To determine which size you need, measure the width of the room by the length and multiply those numbers together to determine the square footage. This new temperature will be maintained for 7 hours before returning to the originally selected temperature. This ends the “Sleep” mode and the unit will continue to operate as originally programmed. You may also cancel sleep mode at any time by again pressing the sleep button. These are all normal. For more definition of noises, please refer to your product’s Use and Care guide. Cover it with plastic or return it to its original carton. NOTE: To prevent rust or electrical connections from being damaged, store air conditioner in an upright position and a dry place. The LED light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation. We appreciate your patience. Be sure to unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards. To clean the filter, open the front panel and remove. The air filter is reusable and may be cleaned using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. After cleaning allow the filter to thoroughly dry before replacing. You may also vacuum the air filter to remove excess dirt and particles. Under no circumstances should you block or cover any exterior or interior vents of the unit. When should I test the plug? These enhanced plugs help to detect damages to the power cord and can be tested following a few simple steps. 1. Press the reset button 2. Plug the cord into the power outlet 3. Press the test button, the reset button should pop up 4. Press reset button for use 5. Do not use room air conditioner if above test fails. For more information please consult your use and care manual. Note: When in the cool mode fresh air venting or exhaust venting will affect cooling and decrease performance. If condensation need to be directed, window air conditioners have a key hole drain in the bottom of the unit where one could connect a ?” drain hose for safe disposal of excess system water. Never drill holes into the bottom of the room air conditioner to remove water. If water is dripping inside the room during the cooling, this is due to improper installation. Please refer to installation instructions or check with your local installer. If you turn the room air conditioner off in cool mode, and restart the unit it will default back into Energy Saver mode. You may select out of Energy Saver mode by selecting the mode button, however we recommend using the feature to help save energy. The room air conditioner will turn off once the set temp is reached; the fan then cycles on (for 20 sec.) every 10 min to sample the air temp. If the room temp is above the set temp, the compressor will turn back on.

The actual Open Box product may differ in packaging and included accessories, but has been tested to ensure basic functionality. Frigidaire’s 10,000 BTU compact air conditioner is an economical way to cool a large room. The unit installs quickly with the included window mount kit, and with the included remote, you can make adjustments from across the room. Quiet for a 10,000 BTU unit, cools off my hot top-floor living room very quickly, remote works great, lots of settings to get things just right. It's heavy, so you need some out-of-window support system, (which you'll have to drill into the window sill or wall). This is a simple task that shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. Here's a rundown of the procedure: Locate the filter compartment and open it. Grasp the filter by its tab and lift it out. It isn't attached with fasteners, so it should come right out. Remove the top one by pulling out the panel, then grasping the tab and lifting it out. To access the other two filters, you must unscrew the lower intake grille and remove it. Remove one filter from the side panel and the other filter from behind the grille. Use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner to avoid ripping the filter paper or otherwise damaging the filter. Use this solution to wipe down both sides of the filter, using a soft sponge or a microfiber cloth. When the filter is clean, replace the soapy water with clean water and wipe down the filter again to remove the excess detergent. If you do this, be sure to immerse it in clean water to get rid of excess soap. This may take a few hours. He has degrees in science and humanities and years of teaching experience. The filter is all that stands between the delicate machinery inside the unit and air that may contain dust, oil and grease from the kitchen, and other contaminants, such as pet hair. You can clean the filter with soap and water, but nothing stronger. If you can't remove all the dirt, you should replace the filter. The filter compartment is almost always on the front of the unit behind a door with a prominent handle.

For both central home air conditioner or window air conditioner,If the unit uses 220 volt power be sure that the proper voltage is A voltage meter can be For window air conditioning units the voltage can also be checked before and after the thermostat. This is a fairly common problem. Another place to check is the fan motor voltage. The fan on window air conditioners runs both the indoor blower and the condenser fan. If that motor fails than the compressor This motor can beCentral air conditioners So don't look for high voltage there. Some units the voltage will be coming from the outdoor unit and others the voltage will be supplied by the indoor air handler or furnace. Most home central air conditioning will be supplied by the indoor air handler or the furnace. If the air conditioner is for cooling only the unit will usually have only two wires going to the condenser unit. Make sure that you have 24 volts across those wires. TheIf your thermostat is The indoor blower is not working, Or the outdoor condenser unit has lost the charge of refrigerant. Finally and worst of all is when you have a complete compressor failure. Overheating or lack of lubrication are usually the main causes of compressor failure. Overheating can be caused by the outdoor coil around the compressor getting clogged with dirt, leaves, or grass. Loss of the refrigerant charge will also cause the compressor to overheat. It is the cool return gas coming back to the compressor that helps to keep it from overheating. AsProper care must always be taken to minimize the release of any gases. A license is also required to handle refrigerants. Make sure that the professional you call has the proper certifications to handle refrigerants properly. If not, the warning light or auto shutoff failed and the tank may be overflowing. Worse case scenario is the that the tank is dirty and is not allowing the coils to cool and the dripping water you see is from the cooling coils.

Press the RESET button. Again you will notice a click as the button engages. 4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. (On some products this is also indicated by a light on the plug head). Notes: Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off. Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation. The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when either the TEST button is pushed, or it cannot be reset. A new one can be obtained from the product manufacturer. Since the tank is not removable, it's very difficult, at best to clean the tank.Of course you'll have to use a funnel of sort to do this. Reinstall the drain plug and move the unit around so the water and bleach will slosh around. Then run the unit until the bucket is near full again and drain it thoroughly. Look at the color of water draining out, for an indication that there is dirty water. That will be a good indication, that some cleaning of the tank has taken place. Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa. Units should be cleaned every year before use. Also make sure you are not circulating air from the outside in and you are bringing in external odors. Login to post I am trying to change the filter and can not open the front of the air conditioner. How do I open it to get to the filter? Is it possible to remove the filter and how should it be cleaned? I use it for maybe a month. I live in Connecticut so you only need an Aircondioner June thru September when it is hot. I turned my aircondioner on. You can flush it water. Anyway the evaporator is the radiator looking thing at the front behind the air filter. Air passes through it to provide cooling air. It gets very cold and if the air cannot pass through it will freeze.Put it back in the window today and now it won't power on. I checked the power cord, but cord is fine (I actually opened up the machine. I would check the outlet (where the AC plugs in at). If the AC is a 110V unit you can check the outlet by plugging in something else, i.e. a hairdryer. If the hairdryer doesn't work either - then you know your breaker is tripped. On the other hand if the hairdryer 'works' then you know the problem is in the unit, where I'm afraid you'd be better off to have a technician to trouble-shoot it, although you could try sending additional information at this point for more help.

Remember if it is a breaker tripped - it was probably tripped by a malfunctioning Air Conditioner so if it 'trips' again in the immediate future you will need someone to check it out.If its a screen type it is washable. Take it out spray it with a mist from a hose from the reverse side to get the dust off, let it dry. Then just reinstall.I am trying to change the filter and can not open the front of the air conditioner. How do I open it to get to the filter? It is 25000 BTU. It started when I turned the unit off to clean the filter. After giving it time to sit, I turned it on, but nothing happened. Hubby came home and hit reset button on cord and was able to get unit going again. The buttons would not work, so the unit stayed at 70 degrees. Now the unit is flipping the breaker. There was a time when it did run for about 5 mintues and all buttons worked, but then it flipped breaker. The unit is about 5 or 6 years old. Not sure if should get it worked on or just purchase another one. It just started to beep randomly. Not all the time. Any reason why ? The filter on the front is clean. Not sure what else to look at. Thanks, Andy The timer comes on Frigidaire Model FAA067P7A2. The timer comes on and goes off repeatedly, sometimes every couple of seconds. Is there a way to clear this problem?
